Shift Leader – Food Manufacturing
Location: Oswestry, Shropshire
Shifts: 3 on 3 off (Days & Nights, Rotating)
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 D.O.E

We are working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing business based in Oswestry who are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join their Operations Team. This role will see you managing a team of 10–20 operatives within a modern packaging facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the team to meet safety, quality, cost, and performance targets across day-to-day operations
Manage and motivate a team of direct reports, ensuring effective performance, training, and development
Deliver operational plans and shift objectives in line with site business goals
Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment using 5S and GMP principles
Oversee resource utilisation and manage staff performance, including investigations where required
Work collaboratively with the Maintenance & Engineering team to resolve technical issues swiftly
Monitor KPIs metrics to ensure efficient, stable production
Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and process development
Conduct walking tours and audits meetings to drive site compliance and engagement
Take control of any emergency situations that may arise during the shift
Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and environmental standards
About You:

Proven experience in a similar Shift Leader/Supervisory role within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive performance and culture
Basic understanding of food production or FMCG practices
Experience in continuous improvement and knowledge of Lean tools (Six Sigma qualification desirable)
Flexible, solution-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
